How to write the letter F
Capital F: Big line down, little line across the top, little line across the middle — an E missing its bottom arm.
Lowercase f: Curve at the top like a candy cane, big line down, then cross it at the middle line.
Watch for: Adding the third arm back and turning every F into an E.
Tips for teaching the letter F
Say the letter name and its sound before tracing ("F says f as in fish"). Have your child trace the gray letters with a finger first, then a crayon or thick pencil — fine-motor control comes before pencil grip. One page a day beats five pages once a week, and always end on a success.
